Well hello, I'm Kayla.

It’s so great to have you here with me, welcome to
Books by Kayla Diamond!

I've grown up a little (*ahem* I mean, a lot!) since this picture was taken, but thought it would be fun for you to meet 'mini me'. I saw a post that said, "be who you needed when you were younger". I was inspired by that quote and so I decided to write books that little Kayla would have needed.

Over here you'll find more information about myself, the amazing illustrator who has helped put my books together, a store where you can buy books for your little ones, a place where you can hire me for events and live readings and find yourself some fun downloadable printables I have created for you to do at home.

I’m a phone call, email or text away from any questions you might have as you jiggle your way through the site.

for visiting and have a beautiful day!
KAYLA DIAMOND
AUTHOR
I’ve worked with young children ever since the beginning of my working career and have loved every second of it – from being a child minder at restaurants, to a babysitter, au pair, tutor, Foundation Phase teacher and now a children’s book author. Working with young children just always felt like the most natural path and I couldn’t be happier.

When I'm not working with tiny humans and thinking of stories, I can be found spending time with friends & family, traveling, and trying new things (even if I'm horrible at them *watersports*).

So, why children's books? Well ever since I was in college, I have wanted to write one, but I didn't quite know *how*. I was inspired to write GLOW when I was sitting on a beach and saw some children playing with glow toys. One wasn't glowing and seemed a little dull; from there the idea just kept growing. I wrote my first draft on a plane and kind of just sat with it for a while until I decided to just... go for it! Once I had the first idea for a book, and started seeing it come to life thanks to incredibly talented artists, the ideas kind of just kept coming and well... now here I am: 3 books later and I am now working as a children's author full time (somebody pinch me!).

My aim is to produce beautiful books that inspire a love for early literacy; based on topics that both children and adults can relate to and learn from.
