Well hello, I'm Kayla.

I've grown up a little since this picture was taken, but thought it would be fun for you to meet 'mini me' - whose spirit and creativity still glows brightly through everything I do today!

It’s so great to have you here with me, welcome to

Books by Kayla Diamond!

Over here you’ll find more information about myself, the amazing illustrators who have helped put my books together, a store where you can buy e-books and hard copies for your little ones, a place where you can hire me for events and live readings and find yourself some fun downloadable printables I have created for you to do at home.

I’m a phone call, email or text away from any questions you might have as you jiggle your way through the site.

for visiting!

I’ve worked with young children ever since the beginning of my working career and have loved every second of it – from being a child minder, to a babysitter, au pair, tutor, teacher and now a children’s book author. I couldn’t be happier that I have gone into the path of teaching and guiding our future generations and am incredibly grateful to be in a position where I can shape the minds and encourage confidence through our little ones as they grow up.

When I'm not working with tiny humans and thinking of stories, I can be found spending time with friends & family, traveling, and trying new things (even if I'm horrible at them *watersports*). I am proudly South African, but I currently live abroad.

So, why children's books? Well ever since I was in college, I have wanted to write one, but I didn't quite know *how*. I was inspired to write GLOW when I was sitting on a beach and saw some children playing with glow toys. One wasn't glowing and seemed a little dull; from there the idea just kept growing. I wrote my first draft on a plane and kind of just sat with it for a while until I decided to just... go for it! Once I had the first idea for a book, and started seeing it come to life thanks to incredibly talented artists, the ideas kind of just kept coming and I am now sitting with 10 possible book ideas.

My aim is to produce beautiful books that inspire a love for early literacy; based on topics that both children and adults can relate to.
